National Consumer Protection Bureau
The National Consumer Protection Bureau is a consumer advocacy group. By maintaining an
organized, verified and current database of businesses, we provide consumers an invaluable
resource to use to research companies before making buying decisions. We collect more data than other organizations like the BBB and agencies like the FTC. We are a private organization whose purpose it is to collect information from consumers so that public records are maintained about businesses that may be accessed by others; ultimately influencing buying decisions.
In the age of internet advertising, consumers need to research businesses before making their choices. We are an excellent resource for these consumers to perform that research, as well as an advocate to resolve disputes - and pass along referrals.
With this in mind we created the National Consumer Protection Bureau. We collect information in a couple of ways. We review records about a company available online. We also get unsolicited reports from consumers who report their experiences. In addition we proactively contact consumers who have used the product or service from a particular business and investigate their results. These findings are recorded on the business record.
Consumers and the Power of the NCPB:
Fact, an unresolved complaint with the NCPB can be devastating to a business. Using this resource gives the consumer a tremendous amount of leverage when dealing with an unresponsive business. The NCPB is one of the best resources for consumers to do research when making a buying decision. When the NCPB is involved, the business owner is listening.
Fact, positive feedback about a business also is a tremendous benefit to a business. If you feel that the company peformed well, positive feedback on the businesses record can translate into additional customers for that company. There is no better way to reward a company for a job well done than to take a few moments to report your good experiences to the NCPB.
